COMPTEL Elects New Board Members
PAETEC’s Ambersley to take the helm as new chairman
Dallas, Texas – March 4, 2009 – At the COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2009 Convention & Expo, the association elected 16 companies to serve on the COMPTEL Board of Directors for the 2009-2011 term. These companies join 11 others that are currently serving on the Board for the 2008-2010 term. Joe Ambersley, a founding officer of PAETEC Communications, was elected Chairman. Mr. Ambersley succeeds Sherm Henderson, President and CEO of Lightyear Network Services, who has served as Board Chairman for the past six years.
Other Board Members elected to the Executive Committee include Julia Strow of Cbeyond, who will serve as Vice Chairman; Jim Butman of TDS Metrocom, who will serve as Treasurer; and Bill Capraro of CIMCO Communications, Dale Schmick of YourTel America, Jerry Watts of Deltacom and Sherm Henderson of Lightyear.
“I have had the pleasure of serving on COMPTEL’s Board for many years and I am honored to take the reigns as Chairman as we continue to grow and strengthen our membership,” said Mr. Ambersley. “Sherm has left hard shoes to fill but I am delighted he will remain active on the Board and I am confident that, with the continuing support and hard work of my fellow Board Members and the COMPTEL staff, the association will remain a driving force in the communications industry.”
