Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A: Established in 1970, Communications Data Group (CDG) provides smart data solutions: CABS, billing, mediation, customer care, plant, trouble, service activation manager, e-care, workflow management and third-party financial, mapping and facilities management products, business consulting and hosted back-up services. Online and licensed options are available.

Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A: CDG’s success is primarily based on its ability to gauge industry trends, employ technology, application designs and an experienced staff to persistently meet billing challenges, and to build solid customer relationships.

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A: The ever-changing telecom environment as service providers try to keep pace with technology and customer requirements.

Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward?
A: Uncertainty with regard to industry policies and consumer trends.

Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)?
A:
CDG recently completed an upgrade of its billing system to a Web-based product and is currently completing implementation of upgraded dashboard and reporting mechanism and contract management.  We are adding support for non-telecom related services and resale of wireless services.  And we just implemented our most recent CABS release in compliance with all industry standards.

Q: Why is it important for your company to be a COMPTEL member?
A: COMPTEL provides CDG access to a marketplace beyond the traditional LEC environment and provides rewarding opportunities to meet potential customers at the COMPTEL PLUS tradeshows.
