Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A: With over 150 years in the industry, Cable&Wireless Worldwide is one of the world’s leading international communications companies, providing business critical telecommunications solutions to the largest users of telecom services globally. With experience in delivering connectivity to 153 countries, the company has 127 PoPs in 35 countries and over 70 cable investments globally. Our aim is to help our partners reach into countries beyond their domestic markets, helping them deliver to their global capability. Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A: We are the first to reach opportunity markets – sharing the world’s most trusted global networks with customers. An entrepreneurial spirit means we are always first to market in regions where we see the biggest opportunities. With our network, we’re connecting our partners’ customers to some of the most remote countries in the world and across the most complex and disparate regions across Asia. Customers will vouch that we have delivered this through the toughest natural disasters experienced. For us, there is no distinction between a partner and a customer, every customer to us is a partner.
Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)?
A: Cable&Wireless Worldwide was the first telco into Asia; from laying the first telecommunications cable in Hong Kong, to being the first international telecoms provider to launch IP based products in India. To this day, we continue to be an investor of strategic cable systems around the world, working towards a more connected global community and exploring new ways to expand and extend not just into developed markets, but into opportunity markets such as Asia and Africa with our customers. Every deal we make is built around an understanding of its impact on the industry, hence our rates are competitive but at market standards. As a result, we partner with over 500 national and international telecoms carriers and suppliers across the globe.
