Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A: Since 2002, many of the world's largest telecommunications network operators have been choosing Optelian because of our product reliability, quick delivery, and custom design capability. Optelian’s LightGAIN systems portfolio provides ultra-reliable, transparent, carrier-grade optical transport for our service provider customers. LightGAIN systems are used for xWDM, reach extension, path protection, Ethernet transport and FTTx applications in all segments of an optical network. Optelian’s LightGAIN systems are notable for their power efficiency, small footprint, pluggable and tunable optics from 10Mb/s to 10Gb/s, amplification, dispersion compensation, and complete network management with optical service channel (OSC).

Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A: One of the things our customers appreciate the most about our company is that we deliver our products when they need them. We build to a forecast; we don’t wait until we receive an order to start the process. Contrary to industry trends, Optelian’s in-house design and manufacturing, combined with our comprehensive testing regimen, give us control of the entire quality process, which allows us to meet the ultra-reliable standards that customers have come to expect from Optelian. Optelian is a TL-9000 certified company.

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A: “There are really no obstacles; there are only challenges.”
All network service providers require an extremely high level of performance reliability, scalability, advance feature sets, network design expertise, on-time delivery and “serviceability”. These factors, when combined with competitive pricing, provide Optelian customers with the value proposition they need to be successful.
