Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A: Established in 2005, 911 Enable is the industry-leading provider of E911 solutions for service providers, carriers and enterprises. We specialize in providing E911 solutions for VoIP and unified communications environments. With over 1,000 organizations using our services, we route approximately 250,000 E911 calls per year through our emergency network, helping our customers meet FCC and state E911 regulations in a simple, cost-effective manner.
Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A: Many organizations do not consider E911 until after an incident has occurred. However, the best time to implement an E911 solution is before an accident happens. An E911 solution is a simple, cost-effective way to improve user safety, and can help organizations comply with FCC, state, and local E911 regulations.
Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward?
A: As technology evolves, different types of devices are becoming popular among users, including a variety of smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices. Supporting E911 for these new devices is a concern for many organizations today, which is why 911 Enable heavily invests in E911 research and development to ensure that users have access to E911 anywhere, on any device.
Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)?
A: The introduction of our Service Provider Emergency Gateway (SP-EGW) appliance is a huge milestone in E911 for carriers and service providers, and represents the next step in the evolution of E911.
The SP-EGW enables hosted IP-PBX providers to include advanced E911 functionality in their cloud-based communications service offering. It was designed in response to a number of issues of concern to IP-PBX providers, including the need for a solution to help meet state E911 regulations, the need to minimize liability, and the need to save money on initial setup and ongoing management of E911. The SP-EGW addresses each of these issues, with the ability to delineate emergency zones to the level of granularity required, automated IP device tracking for tenants, and the elimination of manual location administration. As service providers and carriers begin targeting larger tenants, these automated E911 management capabilities will become indispensible.
