Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A:
Alteryx is one of the best kept secrets in the business intelligence and business analytics space. We’ve been in business for a decade, quietly providing what we like to call “agile business intelligence” or “strategic analytics.” Our business analytics platform is used by Top 5000 companies in a variety of industries including automotive, commercial real estate, restaurants and entertainment, consumer goods, retail franchising and telecommunications.

Alteryx provides indispensable analytic solutions for businesses making critical decisions on their growth and expansion plans. Our product, Alteryx Strategic Analytics, is a desktop-to-cloud agile business intelligence and analytics solution designed for data artisans and business leaders that brings together the market knowledge, location insight, and business intelligence today's organizations require. For more than a decade, Alteryx has enabled strategic planning executives to identify and seize market opportunities, outsmart competitors, and drive revenue. Customers like Experian Marketing Services and McDonald's rely on Alteryx daily for their most important decisions. Headquartered in Irvine, California, and with offices in Boulder and San Francisco, Alteryx empowers more than 250 customers and more than 200,000 users worldwide.

Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A:
Every aspect of the communications business has a spatial or geographic aspect to it. Ultimately, every decision and every analysis made is based on data. The key differentiator of why Alteryx has been successful in the communications industry is because our spatial processing is second to none – we are able to decipher massive volumes of data from a multitude of sources to provide invaluable insight into strategic business decisions.

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A:
We have faced obstacles with regards to companies understanding how Alteryx solutions help with a wide array of needs, including strategic planning, marketing, sales and product management, engineering, operations, customer support, and more. Alteryx has found a disconnect in people’s understanding of big data, and how data is present in all decision-making processes (whether you are a business or a consumer).

Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward?
A:
Alteryx’s goal is to continue growing our value not only for the communications industry, but the spectrum of business areas; we aim to clearly communicate the strategic benefits that only Alteryx solutions can provide. We see this as both a challenge and an opportunity.

Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)?
A:
2011 was a highly successful year for Alteryx. We generated a 33 percent year-over-year increase in billings, as well as a 120 percent year-over-year increase in customer resell. We hold a 98 percent customer satisfaction score and a 100 percent customer retention rate - the highest in the industry.  Internally, Alteryx increased employee headcount 69 percent to 135 in 2011 and also opened new offices in Chicago and Dallas to better serve customers and increase the company’s national presence.

In December, we announced the second phase of availability of 2010 census data, Summary File 1 or SF1. Alteryx is the sole provider of software and analytic content used by the U.S. Census Bureau to store, package, distribute and speed analysis of its 2010 data.

In February, we just launched our latest offering, Alteryx Strategic Analytics 7.0, which includes great cloud offerings, as well as connectors to social media data, Hadoop and key enterprise data sources.

Q: Why is it important for your company to be a COMPTEL member?
A:
Alteryx is dedicated to providing innovative solutions for strategic business decisions, thereby enabling economic growth of companies and consumers. We have a strong focus on the communications business and highly value COMPTEL as the leading industry association representing competitive communications service providers and believe in the mission to promote quality of life through the advancement of technology.
